MIDP Fellow Jibikeoluwa Faborode joined with a Sanford Master of Public Policy student to charter The Duke Sanford Africa Policy Group (DSAPG) during the 2022-23 year. The DSAPG comes at a time when African countries are facing several governance, development, and humanitarian challenges on the home front, as well as the impacts of various global events (such as the Covid-19, Conflicts, and Climate Change). Yet, Africa has enormous economic and growth potentials. The DSAPG will serve as a platform that prepares students to lead on African policy issues by expanding classroom experiences and bridging gaps in learning/networking offerings available here at Sanford and across Duke. A kick off event was held in spring 2022. Members can be undergraduate, master’s, or Ph.D. students from Africa or students interested in exploring African issues.
